Each year, the Homeless Children’s Education Fund honors a true champion at its Champions for Children benefit. This year, Pittsburgh Steeler Brett Keisel and his wife, Sarah, were recognized for their efforts during the event at the Rivers Club. Event chair Bob Fragasso and honorary co-chairs Ralph and Ruth Anne Papa welcomed more than 300 guests, who sampled fine wine and food parings, as well as sweet treats from local chocolatiers. A variety of auction packages raised more than $130,000 for the Mini-Grants for Education awards. “Sarah and Brett have supported HCEF for seven years by giving their time, talents, and treasurers. They truly are champions in our community for children and youth experiencing homelessness throughout Allegheny County,” says Bill Wolfe, Executive Director of the Homeless Children’s Education Fund.
