When Heather McCutcheon’s friend and Brian Pellegrini’s mother decided to play matchmaker, they ended up with a perfect pair on their hands. They agreed to go on a blind date, and the duo ended up dating for two years before Brian proposed. After sharing an anniversary dinner at Willow, they began the journey home. Heather noticed that Brian was quite fidgety, changing the station on the radio. He then put his nerves aside, stopped the car, and asked Heather to marry him. “So, it was really romantic,” Heather says (with a hint of sarcasm). “But it’s a story!”
THE CEREMONY They were wed on a beautiful fall day at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in the Strip District. Heather looked glamorous in a gorgeous mermaid-style Sottero & Midgley gown from Mary’s Bride and Formal in Beaver Falls, and paired it with a lace bolero she’d fallen in love with at Mary’s Bride and Formal, located in Beaver Falls. Heather held a bouquet of burgundy flowers, pinned with a sparkling brooch that belonged to her grandmother, and she accessorized with jewelry from Brooks Diamonds.
THE RECEPTION The fun continued at Phipps Conservatory with appetizers and dinner whipped up by Rania Harris of Rania’s Catering. Wine bottles from La Casa Narcisi Winery were waiting as favors at each guest’s table setting. Florist Laura Schoch enhanced the autumn atmosphere with tall vases filled with bright orange clementines and topped with lilies, roses, mums, and hypericum berries. There was also a cookie table, filled with treats from Theresa’s Italian Bakery, and the icing on the five-layer cake was styled to look like a woven fruit basket from Signature Desserts. DJ Jim Butteri provided music for the evening, where 120 guests gathered to celebrate. After some coaxing by the bride, she and her groom danced their first dance to “The Lady in My Life” by Michael Jackson.
