“Only in Pittsburgh would people pay to watch someone shave,” says Randy Baumann of the DVE Morning Show. Baumann served as the emcee for the 3rd Annual “Shear Da Beard” at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel shaved his epic beard in support of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. “We’re thrilled this is our third year doing this,” says Chris Gessner, president of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. “It’s great that we have a community-minded sports team like the Steelers that keeps Children’s Hospital close to their hearts, and Brett’s definitely one of our heroes.” “Shear Da Beard” has raised more than $100,000 for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC over the years. Mike Tomlin, Ben Roethlisberger, and other special guests took turns trimming the beard down until the Sport Clips specialists stepped in to shave the rest, revealing a clean-cut and almost unrecognizable Keisel.
