PNC Financial Services, which recently purchased National City Bank, has more certifications by the U.S. Green Building Council than any other company on earth, including PNC Firstside in Downtown Pittsburgh. It has been recognized for its eco-friendly business practices by the Urban Land Institute, the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society, Harvard Business Review, and The New York Times. While other financial institutions are struggling, PNC boasts a moderate risk profile and has had little subprime mortgage exposure. On January 13, at Thorp Reed & Armstrong at One OxfordCentre, Sy Holzer, president of PNC Bank — Pittsburgh, will speak on the importance
of community involvement and PNC’s success in today’s marketplace as part of the United Jewish Federation Young Adult Division 2009 Lunch and Learn Series. For more information, contact the United Jewish Federation at 412.992.5255, or visit ujfpittsburgh.org. — Julia Nauer
