Bridal Party Fashion
We bring you a preview of the styles
and silhouettes you will see this year.
By Leslie Hoffman
Wedding fashions are taking their design cues from couture and ready-to-wear fashion shows with their attention to detail, modern silhouettes, luxury fabrics such as satin taffeta and silk shantung, as well as a range of colors for men’s tuxedos and women’s bridesmaids gowns. The most popular look we’re seeing in real weddings? Brides are wearing white, grooms are adding in fresh color to their tuxes, and the bridesmaids are stepping out in little black dresses. Hot pink is the accent color of the year. We go into the region’s premier bridal salons and boutiques to find the wedding gowns that will make you sigh, the bridesmaids dresses they’ll really wear again, and the tuxedos that will make you feel like James Bond.

REAL WEDDING
Lyndsey Stefanini & Chad Lawson
Photography by Craig Photography
This is one fashion forward (and big) bridal party — the couple had 26 attendants for their wedding at West Virginia University’s Erickson Alumni Center! Lyndsey’s black and white dress is a Romona Keveza design, glamorized by her grandmother’s brooch and an Erica Koesler birdcage veil. The men wore hot pink vests and the bridesmaids selected their own shoes.
Capturing the crowd’s camaraderie? Easy, says Elizabeth Craig of Craig Photography. “This was a gigantic wedding party, and they were all so good to each other, so excited to be there for their bride and their groom.”
