Pittsburgh Rocks!Pittsburgh has a rich music history, from musicians to venues to fans. American Eagle Outfitters is bringing a new element to the local music scene with the New American Music Union Festival, a groundbreaking concert that runs from August 8-9 at the SouthSide Works.
With Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis as the curator of the performances, the South Side will be rocking with the sounds of The Roots, The Raconteurs, and headliner Bob Dylan and His Band. Check out managing editor Katie Mavrich’s special article. To feature music legend Bob Dylan on this month’s cover is outstanding for us — we are honored.
It is also an honor to present this year’s Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest, singles who are raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The efforts of this group will affect thousands of people and their families who confront the daily issues of living with cystic fibrosis. By supporting this year’s 50 Finest in their fundraising goals, we are also helping to find ways to eradicate this disease.

We would like to offer a special mention to Susan McGalla, former president and chief merchandising officer of American Eagle Outfitters, along with best wishes as she moves forward. As a woman who has achieved remarkable success as a corporate leader, McGalla’s legacy includes bringing the company’s headquarters to the SouthSide Works.
