Ladies Hospital Aid Society: 2012 Fall Luncheon

It was an afternoon of handbags and home-cooking at the Ladies Hospital Aid Society’s Fall Luncheon at LeMont. Renowned chef and author Ian Knauer spoke at the luncheon and demonstrated fall recipes for more than 200 guests. When the snacking ended, the silent auction began. The “One Handbag at a Time” fundraiser had guests bidding on new and gently used designer handbags, including St. John, Gucci, Judith Leiber, Kate Spade, and more! Guests put up for the purses, raising more than $7,000 for the LHAS Orchid Fund, which provides financial assistance for hair replacement options to help restore confidence and enhance a positive image. “Since 2008, LHAS has funded more than 500 wigs for children under 18,” says Dee Dee Troutman, executive director at LHAS. “We look forward to many more years of serving.”
