The Pittsburgh Carson Scholars Fund lends a hand to local students, awarding college scholarship funds to fourth-11th graders for their academic and humanitarian achievements. At the annual Charity Auction and Cocktail Event — hosted by Jerome Bettis, LaMarr Woodley, and Dr. Alfonso Costa at Bossa Nova — more than $120,000 was raised to contribute to the fund. A crowd of 250 guests contributed through live and silent auctions. One lucky guest even placed a winning bid on a round of golf at Oakmont Country Club with “The Bus” for $6,500! “Year after year, our sponsors, guests, and members of the Steelers join together to celebrate and raise money for Pittsburgh’s youth,” says Sarah Piccione, president and chief operating officer at Costa Land Company. “It is a true testament to the good hearts of the Pittsburgh community.”
